CLF2.0 Toolkit
The Internet is an increasingly important communication tool providing an effective means for the public and the Government of Canada to exchange information and for the government to offer its services in the official language and at the time and place of Canadians' choosing. The consistent and predictable presentation of government services and content offered by Common Look and Feel standards facilitate effective online interaction.
The Common Look and Feel is a set of Standards for the Internet that was developed by Treasury Board of Canada to reflect modern practices on the Web, changes in technology and issues raised by the Web community over the past six years as well as to improve navigation and format elements. It conforms to the World Wide Web (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0 Priority 1 and 2 checkpoints, which are collectively known as WCAG 1.0 AA.
The SharePoint CLF 2.0 toolkit will allow departments and agencies to publish web sites that conform to the new Common Look and Feel Standards 2.0 (CLF 2.0). The CLF toolkit uses the Web Content Management (WCM) and Team Site capabilities of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 (MOSS) and conforms to the World Wide Web (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0 Priority 1 and 2 checkpoints, which are collectively known as WCAG 1.0 AA.
The toolkit will make any Web Content Management or Team Site 100% XHTML compliant and accessible based on the W3C Accessibility Guidelines.
The toolkit includes two solutions: One with Publishing Site features and the other with Team Site features. Each includes both a Solution Package for an automatic install, and a set of files with instructions for manual deployment.
